FAQs - Transports

Where will MTX pick us up for our Transport and what instructions should we follow?

Airport Arrivals:

  1. As soon as your plane lands and you have service text your driver (number will be provided)

  2. Text again once everyone has all their bags

  3. Head down to the ground level, Shuttle/Limo pickup (Lane A), pillars 5A - 6A

  4. We’ll pull up in one of our 4x4 vehicles with MTXutah logos all over it (waive us down if you get there first)

Lodging, return to Airport:

  1. We’ll pick you up right out front of your lodging, usually right where we dropped you

  2. When we arrive back at the airport we drop you right where we picked you up (all check-in desks are in one location at SLC Airport)

What if my flight gets delayed, or I change flight times?

We always ask for flight numbers, and stay on top any delays or changes. Small delays are easy to work around. Major delays take more consideration and rearranging, but we will never leave you stranded and work hard to manage the chaos the best we can.

How do we select pickup times for a return trip to the airport?

Most travelers like to be to the airport 2 hours ahead of their flight departure. For that reason, we usually suggest a pick up time at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours early. From most locations that gets you to the airport about 2 hours ahead of your flight. If it’s a high traffic time of day or if we see potential weather delays we’ll suggest something different, but it’s always up to you when we pick you up. If we can accommodate it, we will.

Do you allow stops for groceries, ski rentals, liquor store?

Yes, and they’re included in the total price you see posted. We don’t charge extra or charge you per minute while we wait. We just expect most people to be relatively quick. As long as you’re within reason we can still be on time for our next route. For groceries we typically suggest you do an online pre-order, and same with ski rentals. After you’ve made your reservation we’ll send you recommendations and can answer more questions about the process. We’re also happy to swing by the State Liquor Store. In Utah hard liquor isn’t sold in regular stores. And, just a reminder…Utah has open container laws, so please wait to drink until after we’ve dropped you off at your lodging.

What is the cancellation policy?

Full payment is collected at the time you book a Transport. Payments are 100% refundable up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled pickup time.

What if the weather is not feasible to go into the mountains on the day of our scheduled transport?

At MTX we don’t typically let weather stop us from heading out. We know the mountains well and know how to adjust for different conditions. On rare occasion, mountain weather conditions may be ominous enough that we’re forced to adjust plans. For example, canyon roads can be closed for avalanche mitigation, or they may be completely jammed. If this is the case we usually suggest we drop you somewhere to hang out and then come get you again when things have opened up.

Do you have car seats or boosters for kids, and what about ADA compliance?

Yes. We will need to know in advance if you have children who require special seating, or individuals with physical handicaps that need special assistance or equipment.

Do MTXutah drivers expect a tip?

Tips are always appreciated, but never required. Either way we stive to provide you excellent communication and service. We don’t charge any automatic gratuities.

Will there be other groups with us?

MTX transports are always completely private for your group. The price you see when you make your reservation is the price for the entire group as a whole.

Can you pick us up from another location, like if we need to be out of our well in advance of our flight?

Yes, we’ll pick you up at another location. The sooner we can know the better so we can plan accordingly.
